GVB History

Our History

Grand Valley Bank had its humble beginnings in 1983, occupying a small, modular building on North Seventh Street in Grand Junction, CO. We have prevailed through both difficult and favorable economic times of the last 4 decades, while proudly and faithfully serving our customers: all of you who have helped us grow to where we are today.

In 1988, the current Grand Valley Bank 7th Street branch building was remodeled right next door to our original modular building. Our bank has grown some since we got started, increasing from our original 12 employees back in 1983 to over 100 employees today. We have expanded from a single tiny office to 9 full-service branches spanning 2 states, adding our latest location in Palisade, CO in 2019.

Through the decades, we have connected with our customers in their day to day lives while striving to meet their day to day financial needs.  This is why we truly are People Banking with People.

Our bank's success can be attributed to our conservative philosophy and our personal approach to our customers. People become our customers because they love our personalized services, and they like to do business at friendly institutions like ours where they are known. Our bank's officers are typically long-time residents of the communities in which they serve, and individually know many of the local residents. Our bank branches are locally, and employee owned, which helps our officers and employees appreciate and understand the needs of the people we service in our communities.

As we strive to continue making our history, we invite you to become a part of Grand Valley Bank’s next chapter!
